So, what kind of establishment is Skin&Spirit? Well, first and foremost, we are and have always been - since the outset and by design - a nurse led clinic, providing advanced skincare services for clinical (eg. acne, hyperpigmentation, mole flattening) and non-clinical indications, medical aesthetics (rejuvenation and anti-ageing), and other healthcare services (such as CBT based counselling and clinically supported weight loss).
We have a Clinical Director who is a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse Prescriber, JCCP registered, trained by Harley Academy for medical aesthetics at Level 7 (ongoing) and who provides oversight and assumes clinical accountability of the entire clinic and all services.
All clinical treatments are carried out according to the medical model, strict clinical protocols and in our purposely designed medical grade Clinic Room.
We are an approved Save Face clinic (independent regulator for private medical aesthetics in the UK) and are fully insured for MEDICAL MALPRACTICE by Cosmetic Insure. We are nearest in type to the service provided by the national Sk:n clinic brand, who have been open for some time now.
Therefore, we are a most definitely a medical setting – to the letter. The fact that we also provide core beauty and nail services in separate parts of the building does not change that. What this means is that as long as we follow the rules and guidance put forward by the government, our regulators (Nursing and Midwifery Council, Save Face and the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses) our insurance provider (Cosmetic Insure) and the local council, you can be assured that if we are offering you a treatment, it is legally permitted, it is insured and it will be carried out according to the strictest safety protocols.
